Jim Varnado, PMP - President

Mr. Varnado is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than twenty years of project management and project controls experience across multiple industries in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

After completing his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), Jim began his career in project management. Over the last two decades, Mr. Varnado has managed construction, maintenance, facilities, information systems / informational technology, new product development, telecommunications, environmental, engineering, and infrastructure development projects with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $200 million.
 
In 1998, Jim started Global Project Management, LLC, a project management consulting and training firm. As a consultant, Jim has worked with major corporations, small and medium size businesses, federal, state, and local governments, and educational institutions on capital projects. As an instructor, he has taught nearly 1000 students from organizations that include utilities, banks, engineering firms, the petroleum industry, offshore construction, manufacturing, information technology / information systems, universities, governments, communications, and environmental sciences.

Mr. Varnado has been an active member of the PMIGNO chapter. A member since 1998, Jim has served as VP Finance, VP Membership, VP Communications and editor of the chapter’s monthly newsletter.
